More than 22 million Expo tickets have been sold, accounting for more than 93 percent of all tickets set aside for sale before the opening on May 1.The Expo organizer has designed six main kinds of tickets with different prices to meet different needs.Regular tickets will cost 160 yuan (US$23.50) during the event while those for holidays and other peak periods will be 200 yuan.Before the opening, people can still enjoy a 10-yuan discount on each type of ticket.People can also buy three-day (400 yuan) and seven-day (900 yuan) tickets that will allow repeated visits.
Seniors, people with physical difficulties, students, children and military personnel will be eligible for discounts of nearly 40 percent.After the Expo starts, people can buy cheaper night tickets (90 yuan) at the entrance.Children under 1.2 meters tall can visit the site free if accompanied by an adult.
Ticket holders can visit all the pavilions in the Expo site at no extra charge.Group visitors and students can buy group tickets from travel agencies appointed by the Expo organizer. Students can buy from educational institutions.So far, more than 40 domestic travel agencies have been appointed to sell Expo tickets.People can buy tickets at more than 5,300 outlets of four major ticket agents: China Mobile, China Telecom, China Post and the Bank of Communications.
