世界各地都有助学型的公益组织，今天我们请52ij英汉互译专属外教Alison老师为我们介绍她在印度旅游期间所见到的一个助学机构——MAD组织，来看看公益事业在国外是怎么一个样子~~
When I was living in India, one of the things I came to love most about Indian culture was their passion. When they get fired up about something, they get fired up! I have a friend who worked for an organization that was fired up about giving under-privileged kids a chance to learn English, and I want to share a little bit of this organization's amazing story with you!我住在印度期间，对于它们的文化最喜欢的一点就是当地人的热情。当他们对某件事很热情时，他们是真正表现出热情！我有个朋友在那里一家机构工作，一家热衷于帮助贫困阶层的孩子获得学习英语机会的机构，在此想跟大家分享一些它们的神奇故事！
MAD (Make A Difference) was started by a group of college students in Cochin, a city in the Southwestern state of Kerala, India. MAD works with urban children in orphanages, shelters and poor homes who don't get quality educations. English education is very uneven among schools in India; richer students can get an excellent education, while poorer students are not taught in English until their 10th year. Most of these kids end up dropping out of school at a young age, and MAD believes that by giving them communication and computer skills, it can help more kids stay in school and achieve more.MAD (Make A Difference)是由一群在柯钦——印度喀啦啦西南部的一个城市——的大学生成立的。MAD为那些在孤儿院、避难所和贫穷家庭而得不到高质量教育的孩子提供服务。在印度，不同学校间的英语教育水平层次不齐：富学生能受到顶尖的教育，而穷学生得等到第十年才有人教他们英语。这些穷学生中的大部分人尚且年少就辍学了。MAD相信，通过教授他们沟通技巧和电脑技术能帮助更多的孩子留在学校，让他们汲取更多知识。
MAD has courses about conversational English and computer skills that kids can take throughout their childhood and high school studies. MAD also helps older students to apply for jobs or to attend university. After MAD volunteers are trained, they only have to spend 2 hours a week teaching or helping to organize events and programs.MAD有会话英语和电脑技术课程，从幼年到高中阶段孩子们都可以参加。MAD也帮助年长些的学生应聘工作或者上大学。MAD的志愿者在经过培训后，每周只需花两个小时来教书或是帮忙组织活动和项目。
MAD has gotten a lot of international attention – including a visit from American First Lady Michelle Obama in 2010! Michelle spent time learning with the kids while her husband Barack Obama was in meetings.MAD受到了很多国际关注，其中就包括2010年时美国第一夫人米歇尔的来访！当丈夫奥巴马在开大会时，米歇尔则陪着孩子们一起学习。
