As we all know,there are quite a lot of differences between living in city and in the country.And these huge differences are causing fierce dabates for our society.For g- eneral people,they find it hard to decide whether to buy a flat or a house in city or in the country.For every enterprise,there are many discussions on where to set its bra- nches and enlarge its profits.And for our government,it鈥檚 a big problem requiring solving that how to develop the country and shorten the gap between city and the country.Now,let鈥檚 talk about the advantages and disadvanges of city life and country life on traffic ,environment,shopping,entertainment,education,welfare and public facilities.

Firstly,living in city,we can enjoy more convenient traffic.Although many people argue that there are lots of traffic jams in city and traffic jams never occur in the cou- ntry,there is no doubt that city mainly occupies the traffic resources----subway,railway,airport ,taxi and perfect bus system.Secondly,as for shopping,thousands of big shopping malls are built and being built in city to meet the enlarging material needs of the citizens.They can provide us all kinds of goods we need.So shopping in city is very convenient.And sometimes it may be cheaper.Thirdly,entertainment in city is colorful.Countless pubs,theatres,dance halls,clubs,etc.locate in every corn- er and help us to escape from our work for a little while.Fourthly,the education res- ources in city are better,including better teachers,better equipped facilities,more information.Besides,we can get easier access to all kinds of people and diverse culture.Fifthly,the fast developing welfare system in city.It provides citizens with better social security like benefits for the unemployed and disabled.Last but not least,the public facilities that tend to be mature provide us,especially enterprises,more conveniences and chances.

Just as the old saying goes,鈥淓very corn has two sides鈥?now let鈥檚 focus on the disa- dvantages of city life.Firstly,the environment in city is not good and sometimes very serious.Because of the large quantities of vehicles,factories,air-conditioning system,etc.,the sky becomes grey,the air becomes dirty,the rain becomes sour,the food becomes dangerous and sometimes poisoned,and people tend to be unhealthy and e- asy to get sick.Secondly,there are so many temptations that it鈥檚 hard for people to concentrate on their own study or work.Sometimes people may lose themselves.

While living in the country can avoid the problems above.Firstly,the environment is good.There are more green trees,more beautiful flowers,more lovely animals,fres- her air,bluer sky,whiter clouds.People living in the country can get closer to nature and relax their souls and bodies.Secondly,people can focus on their own tasks beca- use of fewer temptations.There are few pubs,theatres,hotels,restaurants鈥 But so- metimes spending few hours travelling to the city and enjoying a film or a dine-out is quite a nice trip.Thirdly,the people in the country comparatively have more leisure ti- me to talk to their neighbours.Therefore,the relations between people tend to be frie- ndier and their pressure can be lessened.

But there are still many disadvantages of country life.Firstly,the traffic is much w- orse than that in city.The bus system still falls behind and there are few subways,railways,taxis,and no airports.It鈥檚 very inconvenient for people to travel around.Sec- ondly,shopping in the country is inconvenient,too.,Few shopping malls,supermark- ets,or even stores would be built there because of its lower development.Besides,ow- ing to the poor traffic,the goods there is limited and often more expensive.Thirdly,en- tertainment is so little that people may sometimes complain about the dullness of cou- ntry life.Fourthly,the education there seems to be much poorer than that in city.Be- cause of the harder conditions,few good teachers would offer to teach in the country.Ev- en if they teach there,they will soon return to city.Besides,the money spent in the country is so limited that the relevant facilities are in great need.Moreover,the co- nditions decide that people in the country get little access to up-to-date information and better learning resources.Fifthly,the welfare system is poor which lowers people鈥?s living qualities.

Though the comparisons above,I get a better understanding of the huge gap betw- een city life and country life.In my opinion,living in city is much better than living in the country.City life provides more chances and more conveniences.While country li- fe is much worse.Although nowadays,many people argue that living in the country is enjoyable,country life seems only enjoyable to comparatively rich people.They have private cars,houses like castles and all kinds of good facilities.Therefore,the country is just like a free park with fresh air and beautiful spots.But the fact is the country largely falls behind the city in public facilities.So I think something must be done to shorten this gap.Enterprises should view the huge potential of country business and try to invest in it.Our government should take action to carry out the measures.
