This movie is a well paced combination of old and new, big and small.

The old fashioned style sea battle with co-ordinates and missiles is

well blended with modern technology, aliens and photography. The action

sequences combine big naval battles and destruction scenes in Hong Kong

and Hawaii with smaller scale hand to hand confrontations with aliens.

The story is aliens invade and the Navy does battle with them in

Hawaii. There is some humor and the characters are quite likable and

identifiable. No overuse of CGI or confusing Transformers style aliens.

The direction and photography are clear and non jerky. Kudos to Peter

Berg who has come a long way since Friday Night Lights. The feel good

story is inventive and keeps you entertained throughout. The plot is

clearly explained so it doesn't feel irritating. Liked the way the

joint efforts of the different characters tied in with diplomatic

contributions from all races. Few WWII Pearl Harbor tie ins for those

who notice. Nice bits of humor and use of Veterans.

The cast is good. Taylor Kitch is the everyman reluctant hero. He is

alright and this will probably prove more successful a role for him

than John Carter. Brooklyn is quite convincing in her action role

despite being distractingly well endowed. Alexander Skarsgard plays the

older brother of Taylor. Liam Neeson as the Admiral has a small but

dignified role and adds some class to the movie. Even Rihanna is

convincing.

This is one of the better action movies of recent years. Get a lot of

good solid action and excitement for your buck.

Red Stevens (Garner) is a billionaire who dies suddenly in a crash.Disturbingly,all of his descendants seem to be only concerned with what they might inherit from him,and as the wishes in his will are carried out,the family members barely receive anything.

Along comes his grandson Jason (Fuller),a spoiled trust fund baby who hopes to cash in on some inheritance.But Jason's grandfather had other ideas planned for him.

Jason is brought into the board room where a lone box rests on the table.Inside the box is a DVD with a special message from his grandfather who has set up a series of 12 gifts for him,leading up to the ultimate gift.

The gifts lead to a chain of events that will stretch Jason to his limits.Starting with digging holes for fence posts down on a large ranch in Texas,his journey takes him as far away as Ecuador,teaching him the value of work,real friends,family,true love,laughter,dreams,gratitude,giving,and the importance of using each day to its fullest.

These are things that Red Stevens could not teach his grandson in life.But with his passing,he offers him a chance to inherit the wealthiest of treasures,a sense of what really matters most in life.

Many surprises wait along the way in this tender story,with solid,heartfelt performances.It is touching to see this self-centered boy start to rearrange his priorities,and connect not only with other people,but himself.

This film is a rewarding treat that everyone should see.

昨天,我看了《大魔术师》这部电影.

这部电影讲了一个叫张贤的魔术师和一个叫雷大牛的“军阀”与一群搞复辟的清朝人斗智斗勇,最后取得胜利的故事.

我觉得,有些人表面上是坏人,实际上他在做好事.就像雷大牛.他表面上联合日本人,帮助清朝妄想搞复辟的人,其实他这么做,是为了骗取日本人的精良武器.最后在魔术馆举行仪式的清朝人就是被和他们搞复辟的日本人送给雷大牛的坦克打败了.当时在放关于坦克的电影,清朝复辟者正看得津津有味,突然来了一辆坦克,日本人说：“电影都是假的,别当真,也别认真”.可是,张贤用魔法,使舞台上的坦克就像在电影里一样.坦克开出了幕布,雷大牛从坦克车上下来了.当时可没有3D电影啊!日本人就奇怪这是为什么呢?他们怎么也不能不相信.等那个坦克开炮了,日本人和复清者才知道上当了.可知道也来不及了,那些人被通通打败.

我还觉得,张贤很聪明.他惠眼识珠,看得出谁是好人,又惠眼识“猪”,看得出谁是坏人.他真心帮助雷大牛,也看似帮助了雷大牛的副手刘昆山,他在“帮”刘昆山时,其实帮助雷大牛获得了大量的难得的信息.他其实是一个优秀的好间谍.

张贤有一句话很打动我：只要信念坚定,梦想一定成真.我觉得,人干什么,都得努力.但也不能干坏事,人必须要有道德,有了道德,才能够成就事业.
