This results in an onslaught of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, ranging from California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, massive earthquakes, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.

I think,it will be, for its audiences, one of the most satisfactory films of the year and it really can be called the "mother of all disaster movies".

But what will be your choice if the cost is laying your lover among the risks? What will it be if the cost is you can never tell the girl, who you love so much, that you love her? The spider man had this contradiction. But finally he still chose the latter, not in order to be a hero, but to make this word peaceful.

I was so moved by the words the Aunt Mary said:

You will never guess what he wants to be, the spider man. He knows the hero when he sees one, too a few characters out there, flying all around out there, saving old girls like me. Lord knows kids like Henry need hero courageous, sacrificing for people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People enthrone them, cheer them, scream their names and years later they will tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse the one who taught them to hold on to stand longer. I believe there is a hero in all of us. They keep us be honest, give us strength, make us noble, and finally allow us to die with proud. Ever though sometimes we have to initiatively give up the thing we want most, even our dreams. Spider man did that for Henry, so he wants to know where he is gone. He needs him.

2012英文影评：

The world is ending in a matter of hours, yet justice and humanity don’t penetrate through the brain-shells of politicians. In order to save their own lives, the government officials keep the secret from the rest of human kind and also lets the man whose knowledge saves their lives die. This is the premise of 2012.

But if the viewer is a Tibetan or someone who is aware of the Tibetan culture and the sensitivities of Tibetan issue, one could feel that the justice and humanity are not occurred in the director’s thought either.

There is a scene long enough to mention that takes place in Tibet. In fact the last human beings die there and the new seed of the future human race starts at the neck of Mount Everest, “The People’s Republic of China” the movie calls it. Perhaps what no movie reviewer noticed or saw the importance of mentioning is that the prophetic fictitious story of the movie not only makes a statement that Tibet is completely a part of China, but also it totally misrepresents the core culture of Tibetan people. A Tibetan woman killing animals in Tibet is taboo, it never happened except during the Cultural Revolution when some women were forced to do so. Women killing chickens in the Chinese market is an everyday event, but a Tibetan woman killing a CHICKEN reflects the director’s cultural ignorance and it makes the movie even more ridiculous.

And in real life ethically speaking, Mr. Emmerich failed to hire Tibetan actors who can speak their own language. All the actors who play Tibetan characters are Chinese very poorly pretending to be Tibetans. Their Tibetan is hundred times worse than Zhang Yi’s memorized English or Leonardo DiCaprio’s Swahili (well I can imagine!).

The story of the film is simple.Rapunzel is a princess that has hair that has power to heal and keep people young,but once it's cut,it loses all power.When Rapunzel was just an infant she was kidnapped by an old woman who locked her away in a tower to keep her hair all to herself.Rapunzel grows up thinking that her kidnapper is in fact her mother,and the reason she's locked away is because her 'mother' wants to keep her safe from the hardships of the world.I'd tell you more about the movie but I don't want to ruin it.Let's just say she runs away.Very simple,fairy tale plot.

This movie has enough action and comedy to keep boys happy and enough emotion,romance and drama to keep the girls happy.There are a few scenes that made me tear a little,well maybe more than a little.Some scenes have so much emotion and depth that it tugs at your heartstrings,and gives you goosebumps,especially the lantern scenes.Disney is testing the waters of their film making with this one.There were many alcohol references and even references about being drunk.There's violence,people getting stabbed,and yes,even blood.Which you never see is Disney movies.

Overall,I highly recommend this movie,to everyone.Anyone could enjoy this movie.It's very hard not to like it.
