从来没有哪一次,“少年”这个词使我如此迷醉.干燥的、清爽的、带着青草味道的、充满了憧憬和希望的感觉,应该就是理想中的少年.有希望,有将希望实现的冲动,有相信希望一定可以实现的信心,即便义无反顾地向前,也会因为是少年,而从不担心和胆怯.有着被“预兆”的“天命”,由着一往无前的勇气,少年时的天真与坚定,正好使人感觉到幸福.“当你想要某种东西时,整个宇宙会合力助你实现愿望.”（P59）当我们还有这样的坚信的时候,该是多么的美好.

本书关于一名牧羊少年寻找梦想的旅程,故事始于他在一棵无花果树下的睡梦,终结于他回到无花果树下的那一天,当中画了一个大大的圈,是一场旅行,是一场磨砺,是一场成长.我们很容易在这样的故事当中找到自己.“男孩说着,走开了.只需卖掉一只羊,他就可以到海峡的对岸去了.这个念头吓了他一跳.”（P41）想当年,我们似乎也都是这么过来的,想着要离开,想着出去闯荡,想着远行.更令人激动的是,这种远行,似乎想要发生就能发生,没有顾忌,没有负担,满怀着希望,虽然知道有可能会失败,依旧满不在乎.这种不在乎的劲儿,在我们现在看来,是不是有点陌生了呢?

这是一本柔软而善良的小书,经历过坚硬与险恶之后的人,反而更能理解它的珍贵.如果,不久的将来我有了孩子,希望能在某一天的傍晚,最好是有风吹过的初夏,坐在花园中,在他的目光里,翻开书本,从第一页开始念起：这个男孩名叫圣地亚哥……
